Stunning surroundings
Hell’s Gate Canyon takes its name from the past. At one time, the trees joined together to form a natural bridge that all but blocked access to the river.
Your starting point is the 20-metre high Grand Sault Falls. A canyon stretches for nearly 5 kilometres beyond the waterfall. The rock walls are very narrow in some places and can reach dizzying heights of 90 metres.

The canyon is known for its 63-metre-high suspended footbridge—the tallest in Quebec. Stand on the footbridge and take in the unbeatable 360° views.

Hell’s Gate Canyon is open mid-May to mid-November (depending on the weather). Opening hours vary year-to-year, but are generally between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. This year’s end-of-season hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
